Yesterday we went to a wine tasting in Chianti at the Castello de Verrazzano. Unfortunately it was raining, so the views weren’t as spectacular, but still nonetheless, it was absolutely beautiful! We walked through the castle, we saw the humungous vats of wine and giant pieces of ham hanging from the ceilings.
In the dining room, we had lunch and tasted wine. They gave us two types of wines which we had to compare by smelling, swirling, and tasting. The lunch was unbelievable. Salami, prosciutto, pecorino cheese, pasta, bread, pork, and butter lettuce. Then at the end of lunch, we had a dessert wine with biscotti.
We got back to Florence, and planned and booked our trip to Interlaken through Bus2Alps, a program agency.
Last night, we went to a bar called Naima to watch the Indiana vs. Michigan basketball game. I ran into Leah Stahl, my friend from camp who is studying in Sevilla there! It was on at 3:00AM our time, so we didn’t get home until 5:30AM. But Indiana won, so it was definitely worth it!!
